3 Sleepers in the 2024 NFL Draft With Chiefs' "Connections"
Every year people that cover or follow the NFL Draft have a list of players that are slated to go on Day 3 of the draft that they believe will out-perform those expectations. These players get called “Sleepers” due to the rest of the media world being asleep on their potential. Here i wanted to run through a couple of these guys for me in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft but we have to add a little bit of a twist or the player pool may be 25 players long.
Rather than just rattling off a handful of names that could fit that criteria, I wanted to find 3 potential sleepers that have a non-on-field reason to garner interest from the Chiefs. Looking deeper than just the tape or “needs of the team”, I picked out 3 players who not only should be higher regarded than they are but also have a little extra pizazz as it pertains to being drafted by the Chiefs.
Let’s just dive right in, shall we?
Day 3 Sleepers
Brandon Coleman | OL | TCU
6’4.5”, 313lbs, 34.625” arm length
Coleman didn’t pick up football until he was a junior in high school and spent his first year in college at Trinity Valley Community College before transferring to TCU. Despite the lack of experience, he started 34 games over four seasons at TCU - 22 at LT, 11 at LG, and 1 at RG. He shows all of the tools to excel at the next level with a powerful punch, strong anchor, good burst out of his stance, and the flexibility to adjust on the fly but needs to reign in his consistency.
