Welcome back to the latest edition of KCSN Daily, where we deliver the best Kansas City Chiefs content.
Down 17-0 to the Las Vegas Raiders with just over nine minutes to go in the second quarter, things looked bleak for the Chiefs. Fans had seen this team pull off miraculous comebacks with Patrick Mahomes at the helm before, but had they run out of that magic?
Not a chance.
Not for a second did any player waiver in their belief that they’d come back and win the game.
“It was no different, we knew that we were going to win the game,” WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling told reporters after the game. “Especially on our side of the ball, we knew we were going to figure it out. They jumped out to an early lead and did some things well on defense, but there was no fear in our heart, no doubt that we were going to be able to score points. We have some of the best guys and we have some Hall of Famers on that side of the ball, too. So we were going to be okay.”
It’s important to see a player like Valdes-Scantling say this because he was catching passes from Aaron Rodgers when Mahomes and company were mounting comeback win after comeback win in 2019. This signals that even the newcomers have bought in and as we’ve seen in the past, belief can be a powerful motivator for players on this team.

5 stats to know ahead of Chiefs’ Week 6 game vs. Bills:
1. Series history: Buffalo has the all-time lead over Kansas City in this series with a 27-24-1 overall record. Their recent history has favored the Chiefs as they’ve won six of the last eight matchups between these two teams, including two consecutive matchups in the postseason.
2. Home underdogs for the first time: According to Draft Kings Sportsbook the Bills are 2.5-point favorites at the Chiefs in Week 6. This marks the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era that this team has been an underdog at Arrowhead Stadium. The team has been an underdog just eight times during his whole career and during that span, he’s been 7-0-1 against the spread. In other words, don’t bet against him.
3. A No. 1 scoring defense again: Buffalo is currently tied with the San Francisco 49ers after five weeks for the league’s No. 1 scoring defense (61 total points allowed). The Chiefs have already dethroned the Buccaneers who previously had the No. 1 scoring defense. They also put 42 points up against the Bills’ No. 1 scoring defense in the playoffs last season.
4. Expect fireworks on offense: Through five games to start the season, the Chiefs are leading the NFL with an average of 31.8 points scored per game. The Bills are right behind them with an average of 30.4 points scored per game. There will be points scored on Sunday afternoon, many of them.
5. Winning on third down could be the difference: Buffalo at 55.74% and Kansas City at 52.54% are both converting on third down more than any other team in the NFL. They’re also both right in the middle of the pack — 38.46% for the Chiefs and 39.34% for the Bills — when it comes to third-down conversions allowed to opponents.

KCSN Update:
KCSN’s BJ Kissel sits down with The Athletic's Nate Taylor to ask him his 5 Burning Questions following the Kansas City Chiefs' 30-29 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football.
Quotable:
“They called it. It doesn’t even matter what I see. The game, I think as a league we got to take initiative to a lot of these roughing the passers calls that’s getting called. Especially in critical situations in the game. I think we was 10-20 right then, that was a third down stop and I think roughing the passer, the (referees) put such an emphasis on that, that we got to be able to view it in the booth now. I think that’s the next step as the NFL as a whole. If we’re going to continue to call roughing the passer at that high of a velocity, then we got to be able to view it in the booth to make sure because sometimes looks can be deceiving. From the ref's point of view, it probably looked like that initially but when you look at the replay it’s a whole different thing. I think now to evolve roughing the passer and protecting the quarterback, essentially what we’re doing in this league. We got to be able to look at roughing the passer in the booth. You take a look at the (Atlanta Falcons Defensive Lineman) Grady Jarrett situation. - DT Chris Jones on the roughing the passer penalty
Obviously, Kelce is the best tight end in the history of football, so he’s going to demand that week-in and week-out – and somehow he still ends up with four touchdowns. When you have a guy like that, you honor those things and you start to take advantage of them putting two or three guys over his side of the field and you take advantage of the one-on-ones that you get.” - WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling on TE Travis Kelce getting double-teamed all night
Quick Hits:
From Chiefs Communications: Matthew Wright now holds the franchise record for the longest field goal made by nailing a 59-yarder at the end of the second quarter. Both Nick Lowery and Harrison Butker were previously tied at 58 yards for the No. 1 spot.
From Worlds of Fun: After the game was finished, Raiders WR Davante Adams pushed over a cameraman on his way to the locker room. That cameraman has since filed a police report and the NFL is reviewing the incident for possible fines and suspension. Local Kansas City amusement park Worlds of Fun took to Twitter to weigh in on the incident.
From the Author: There was a lot of history made on Monday night, but I found this piece particularly interesting. Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes needs just 392 rushing yards to pass Alex Smith for the most by a QB in franchise history. The 28 rushing yards recorded against the Raiders were enough to put Mahomes at No. 2 all-time ahead of the late Lenny Dawson.
