Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the Chiefs Dominate the Buccaneers Sunday Night, 41-31
The Chiefs controlled the game from the opening kickoff
The Kansas City Chiefs (3-1) went on the road against the NFL’s No. 1-ranked scoring defense, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-2), which had allowed just 27 points in their first three games COMBINED, and dropped 41 points while leaving a handful of plays on the field in the process.
That was about as great as even the most-optimistic Chiefs’ fan could have expected as Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and the Chiefs’ running game took it straight to the Bucs the entire night.
A week after the Chiefs’ running backs carried the ball 18 times for 31 yards against the Indianapolis Colts, that same group - led by Clyde Edwards-Helaire and rookie Isiah Pacheco, who combined for 30 carries for 155 yards and a touchdown - followed behind a Chiefs’ offensive line that controlled the line of scrimmage all night.
Defensively, there’s this from the Chiefs’ communications department.
“During tonight’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Chiefs set a franchise record for fewest rushing attempts allowed in a game, with the Buccaneers only attempting six rushes. The Chiefs defense allowed just three total rushing yards in the game, tying for the fewest rushing yards allowed in a single game in franchise history.”
Pretaayy, prettaay, good.
