The NFL’s 53-man roster deadline has come and gone. The Chiefs assembled their first iteration of the 53-man roster for the 2022 NFL season, but it’ll still have some changes to it in the coming days. At least one player on the roster (TE Blake Bell) will end up placed on injured reserve on Wednesday. There is the possibility that the team could claim players on waivers, though they’re quite low on the waiver order in terms of priority. It’s also possible the Chiefs could sign vested players who became unrestricted free agents when they were released.
With all of that in mind, here’s the first look at the Chiefs’ 53-man roster below.

KCSN Update:
KCSN’s BJ Kissel sits down with The Athletic’s Nate Taylor to talk about injuries and bold Chiefs predictions for the 2022 NFL season.
Quotable:
"I thought RoJo (Ronald Jones) did a nice job down the stretch, and we know what he's capable of. It's a matter of him being comfortable in the offense. (We) throw a lot at the running backs, and it looked like he was starting to get it down the stretch there. Good football player." - Chiefs HC Andy Reid on Ronald Jones II making the team
“Shane really is coming off of a pretty good game with that last game. He did a pretty good job with that. He got a lot of reps, we kind of set it up that way to give him an opportunity to grow, which I think is important through these first few years. But I thought he did a good job with that, yeah.” - Chiefs HC Andy Reid on his thoughts on QB Shane Buechele.
Important dates ahead:
Wednesday, Aug. 31 - Waiver claiming period ends (due 11:00 a.m. CT)
Sunday, Sept. 11 - Week 1: Chiefs @ Cardinals - State Farm Stadium - Glendale, Arizona
