After the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Washington Football Team, there was some nervous hopefulness that this team might have been turning the corner — with a glimmer of hope that the defense had taken some strides. After the Chiefs faced off against the Tennessee Titans in Week 7, that hope was all but dashed.
The Titans scored on every single possession of the first half — three touchdowns and two field goals — en route to a 24-point victory and the worst regular-season loss of the Patrick Mahomes era. While the offense seems to be somewhat stagnant as of late, the defense has spent the vast majority of the year making it far too easy on the opposition.
This week, as I do every week, I’ll take a look at the good, the bad, and something you may have missed from last week’s game — as well as some relevant numbers from charting the defense in their best performance of the year.
