Rookies, quarterbacks and select injured players have arrived at the Missouri Western State University campus in St. Joseph, Missouri for training camp. They’ll get a three-day head start on practice, but veterans are now set to arrive just a bit earlier for training camp.
The NFL previously reported that Chiefs veterans would report on Saturday, July 22. The team has since informed media members that veterans will begin reporting to camp on Friday, July 21 in the afternoon and evening. This will give them time to get settled before the team’s conditioning test on Saturday morning, which will include over a dozen half-gassers (running the width of the football field, up and back).

Quotable:
“Listen, I take my work with me. I’ll spend a couple hours a day working on things, I enjoy doing that, you know some people read novels, I look at plays.” - Andy Reid on when he begins thinking about training camp
“It feels great. I think even going into OTAs I was still a little timid about running, cutting, and doing stuff like that. But when I got closer to mini camp and the later OTA stage, I got that confidence back in my ankle. I’m sure I’m not going to be running a lot right now, but we’ll be testing it, especially in these half gassers. I’ll make sure it’s ready to go and I think I’m in a good spot with it.” - Patrick Mahomes on his ankle
“During the summer, through the break, I was meeting with (QB) Shane Buechele, every day, every morning, just running routes, and putting the ball at each hash so we could work our own 2-minute drills.” - Rashee Rice on how he prepared for training camp
“Hey, like you said, offensive line. That’s what we do, we’re in the trenches. I hit people for fun. I’m very excited to get out there and work with these guys. Great talent out here and just each day get better. That’s all I’m worried about, getting better each day.” - Wanya Morris on putting pads at training camp
“I remember I was on the float (at the 2023 NFL Draft) with (future Chiefs Hall of Famer) Dante Hall. Basically, he said it really simple, ‘Honestly, you play football for a reason, just go out and play. There’s no thought into it, there’s no overthinking it, just go out there and play because at the end of the day, this is just a game. So, once you just play literally just a game like how you did in little league, and just play, do everything right, do everything possible, eat right, do everything, work on your body, everything will just play in place.’ So that’s basically the most simple thing he said and I’ll take it forever.” - Felix Anudike-Uzomah on advice receiver from Dante Hall
