Players to watch in Week 4:
QB Patrick Mahomes: Mahomes was very critical of his own performance following the Week 3 loss to the Colts. He felt that he was holding onto the ball too long and that was leading to some negative plays for the team. This marks his first matchup against the Buccaneers since the loss in Super Bowl LV. Obviously, he’s going to be looking for a little redemption, both as it relates to the loss in Week 3 and their last game against Tampa Bay.
RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire: The third-year veteran, Edwards-Helaire, is coming off of an abysmal rushing performance against the Colts in Week 3. Unfortunately, it might not be much better this week. The Buccaneers have been one of the best teams in the NFL against running backs this season allowing just 212 yards and no scores on 56 attempts. The one saving grace for Edwards-Helaire is that he had some success against the Bucs in Super Bowl LV, recording nine carries for 64 yards. Perhaps the Chiefs can catch Tampa by surprise.
WR JuJu Smith-Schuster: Smith-Schuster had a 53-yard catch-and-run in Week 3, which provided a glimpse of what he’s capable of. While the Bucs’ defense has been stellar this season, they’ve allowed quite a few yards and receptions to receivers. The majority of the production against their defense has come from the receiver position. They’ve allowed over 40 receptions for 479 yards and three touchdowns. With the Bucs focused on taking away Travis Kelce, this could be a prime opportunity for Smith-Schuster to have a big game.
CB L’Jarius Sneed: This feels like a week where the Chiefs could use back-to-back big performances from their top corner. Last week Sneed made some key plays rushing the passer and in the passing game, but against Tom Brady his coverage needs to be airtight. With some of the Buccaneers receivers ailing, it could be a game where Sneed could take advantage with a game-changing play.

Quotable:
“He put his fingerprints on it before (he was head coach), obviously, with that defense. I’ve been around him and I’ve mentioned before he’s one of the best interviews I’ve ever had. I think he’s a heck of a football coach, so I’m sure he’s put his mark on the team.” - Andy Reid on Bucs’ new head coach Todd Bowles
“Honestly, I haven’t thought about it since Monday, brother. It’s in the past now. You learn from it. You know what you’ve got to clean up and you just approach this week like we have. With the attention to detail, the focus, the effort and showing guys around you that it matters to you and that we’re going to get this thing fixed. And sure enough, that’s what we did.” - Travis Kelce on the loss to the Colts and moving forward
