Welcome back to the newest issue of KCSN Daily, where we deliver you the best Kansas City Chiefs content.
After a few days of speculation and uncertainty, the NFL has decided that the Buccaneers will host the Chiefs at Raymond James Stadium. Hurricane Ian’s path kept the brunt of the storm south and now northeast of the Tampa area. Local authorities informed the NFL that they would have the resources and capability to host the game on Sunday night. With that information, the league has made the decision to move on as scheduled as opposed to moving the game to Minneapolis at U.S. Bank Stadium, which was their primary contingency plan.
As for the weather in Tampa post-Hurricane Ian, things are looking pretty clear for the Chiefs vs. Bucs game. The current forecast for Sunday evening predicts mostly clear skies with a 5% chance of precipitation and 5-10 mile per hour winds at the stadium.

Quotable:
“We were talking about it – you know we’ve played other quarterbacks that have been in the league a long time, I’m picking my words carefully here. And normally you’d see a drop off in arm strength or they don’t throw it to the sideline, and you can attack it and etc., etc. Not so with (Buccaneers QB) Tom (Brady). I think he’s throwing the ball as good as he ever has (and) he’s (as) accurate as he ever has been and he’s still throwing the ball deep. I don’t see any – and he’s always been a ‘sit in the pocket, on the spot, relying on his arm strength (type of quarterback)’ (and) that hasn’t changed. It’s not like he ever relied on being a guy that could get out of the pocket, so he’s the same threat he’s always been in my opinion.” - Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo on Tom Brady
“Yeah, I think anytime that you lose a game like that you’re ready to get that taste out of your mouth. Everybody’s been – we’ve had a really good week of practice so far. Everybody’s been fired up and really focused and just ready to go out there and try to change that and get back to winning and things like that. So, everybody’s really motivated right now. Everybody’s executing well in practice and we’re practicing with intent which is very good right now.” - Chiefs C Creed Humphrey on moving on from the Colts’ loss
Quick hits:
From NFL Films: The folks at NFL films did an incredible short feature on Andy Reid’s former left-hand man and current Chiefs offensive quality control coach Porter Ellett. At four years old, Ellett lost the use of his right arm in an accident. He’s been a beacon of perseverance ever since.
From the Townsend Brothers: Former Chiefs P Johnny Townsend has a foundation that previously focused on pediatric initiatives. He announced on Thursday that the foundation would be shifting focus to help deliver resources to areas of Florida affected by Hurricane Ian. Current Chiefs P Tommy Townsend shared a tweet directing folks to where they can donate.
Speaking of Tommy Townsend: Chiefs P Tommy Townsend was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September. He has 11 punts on the month with a league-leading 49.6 net average. Five of his punts have landed within the 20-yard line and he has a long punt of 74 yards. This is Townsend’s second career AFC Special Teams Player of the Month win, making him the first punter in Chiefs history to win the award multiple times.
