Draft Day Trades Across the NFL

The 2024 NFL draft has come and gone. The Chiefs just completed their rookie OTA. We are well and truly in the offseason. Normally I try to write about things that are relevant to the Chiefs for that week, but frankly, I just don’t want to write about Rashee Rice’s legal issues.

Instead, I’m going to be evaluating all of the trades that happened during the draft!! You all may know that I have an app that allows you to input the picks received for each team in a trade, and spits out the values based on six different draft value charts. I posted graphics for every single trade through the first 5 rounds of the draft in this twitter thread.

The Chiefs traded up twice in the draft. The first trade was moving up to pick 28 from the Bills for Xavier Worthy. The second trade was for pick 63 from the 49ers for Kingsley Suamataia. The graphic below shows every pick the Chiefs gave up in those two trades compared to every pick the Chiefs received in those two trades.
