Eight Chiefs playing for a roster spot tonight
With the starters out, which Chiefs are still battling for a roster spot tonight against the Chicago Bears? Let's dive in.
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid announced earlier this week that starters will not be suiting up for the Chiefs' final preseason game against the Chicago Bears tonight. For the most part, we will know who the roster locks are by who is dressed in street clothes.
The lone exceptions include players who have yet to have a chance to knock off the rust much lately, such as cornerback Jaylen Watson or running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Even those guys might get the night off with quarterback Chris Oladokun leading the way for the Chiefs.
That is not to say all 53 are figured out, however. This is the final chance for everybody on the fringe to make their last push with extended playing time at their disposal. There are always some surprise makes and cuts. This year those could include Edwards-Helaire getting cut or IR’d, Ethan Driskell beating out backup left tackle Lucas Niang or even Deon Bush forcing the Chiefs to keep five safeties, but those are not the types of storylines we are going to talk about here.
Let’s dive into who has a realistically good shot at making the roster with a dominant performance Thursday night.
