Is Kamal Hadden the next cornerback gem in Kansas City?
It’s hard to argue with the way the Chiefs have approached the cornerback position over the last few years of the Brett Veach era. Regardless of what round they select a cornerback in, they’ve been able to find a path to contribution.
Most seventh round selections are lucky to be on the active roster by then end of the season, but the Chiefs have found roles for the likes of Nic Jones, Nazeeh Johnson (when healthy), and Jaylen Watson. There doesn’t seem to be a ton of trends to the players themselves from an athleticism perspective. The Chiefs have just been good at identifying players that have pushed for opportunities when healthy, and at minimum been active roster contributors on special teams.
The Chiefs took yet another swing on a cornerback in the 2024 Draft. This time it was Tennessee’s Kamal Hadden who was selected with the 211th pick.
