Ok, so I’ve gotta confess something. I had thought that the day we had to cut the roster down from 90 to 53 was Wednesday, not Tuesday. Yes, I know that basically all things league related happen on Tuesdays, I just got confused. Had I realized this, I would have put out this article last week, and saved the final Threats article for this week instead.
Well, since we’re in a hurry, let’s get into it! Before we get to the predictions, let’s take a look at how many players of each position we have kept during the Andy Reid era in Kansas City. That will help us make decisions between players and position groups.
Wide receiver has seen some interesting shakeup the past few years. Twice we’ve kept just 5, and once we’ve kept 7. Last year was the only year we’ve kept 7 in the Reid era. We have tended to keep more TE’s than RB’s in the last few years as well. Last year was also the first year we did not keep a fullback. During the Smith years, we kept 8 or 9 OLINE. During the Mahomes years, we’ve kept either 9 or 10.
