The Kansas City Chiefs were back in St. Joseph, Missouri for practice on Monday, marking the start of the team’s final week of training camp. Several players impressed during the 19-14 preseason Week 1 loss to the Chicago Bears, but WR Justin Watson stood out above the rest. He was rewarded for his performance with an increase in repetitions with the first-team offense during practice on Monday.
The Chiefs made five transactions at the onset of practice ahead of Tuesday’s 85-man roster cut deadline. The roster currently stands at 87 players, with two more moves needed before 4:00 p.m. CT on Tuesday.

Quotable:
“It felt great to be in the first preseason game. From a kid just waiting all his life to be in an NFL game to actually play in one for my first time ever going to an NFL game. To be in it felt great, and that’s what I always had the mindset to do, and it was a dream come true and I finally did it.” - Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco on preseason Week 1
“Yeah, listen, he made a ton of tackles out there. He was involved with a ton of tackles (and) he always seemed to be around the ball. I liked the effort that he put in and he was accurate with the defenses that were called at that time, so I thought he did a nice job.” - Chiefs HC Andy Reid on Leo Chenal’s performance in preseason Week 1
