KC Sports Network Announces Formation of KCSN Foundation, Charity Golf Tournament in October
Join us at Sunflower Hills Golf Course in Bonner Springs, Kansas on Saturday, October 15
From the moment we first launched KC Sports Network in May 2021, there was always going to be an aspect of giving back to our community that would be an underlying principle of what we were going to be about as a company.
It wasn’t an idea. It was a mission.
We wanted to be more than a company that just created content to distract you from working during the day, whether it was through reading our daily newsletters, watching our videos on YouTube, or listening to any of our podcasts. We create content for our local teams and fans and we want to use those same platforms to serve and improve our community in any way we can.
That promise started with our “Feed it Forward” program, which sent more than 1,400 “Cookie Society” cookies to local teachers last Fall. We then began providing meals to Kansas City’s homeless through a partnership with Hope Faith Ministries as part of that same program.
During the Holidays, we launched the Soul of KC Raffle, which benefited Operation Breakthrough’s “Christmas Store,” and helped provide thousands of toys for kids and families in the Kansas City area.
None of this would have happened without the support of the community, which in many cases came through the purchasing of raffle tickets for the chance to win items we had donated to us from local businesses. We didn’t do anything on our own, but we used the platforms we were building to promote the mission that was important to us.
That continued during the NFL Draft last Spring, when we were able to raise thousands of dollars to help support the two scholarships in the name of our late friend, Terez Paylor.
This Fall, we’ve partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Kansas City for the “My First Game” campaign, which provides four tickets to every Chiefs’ home game for kids who have never had the opportunity to attend a game at Arrowhead Stadium.
We’ve got another new campaign that we’ll announce later this Fall, and it’s also built around the idea of supporting kids in our community in small, yet impactful ways. All through existing partnerships we have at KC Sports Network.
Now, part of the maturation of doing this work in the community and expanding what’s feasible for us is the development of a 501c3, which we have created with the KCSN Foundation.
It is now a tax exempt organization that will allow donations to be tax deductible for both individuals, and companies. We can help more people and we can provide even more in return for those who want to support what we’re trying to do.
In order to raise money for these programs and others we want to do in the future - plus the fact that we want to have some fun, we are putting on the First Annual KCSN Foundation charity golf tournament in October.
We like to golf. We want to have fun. So, if you’d like to join us at Sunflower Hills Golf Course in Bonner Springs, Kansas on Saturday, October 15 at 1:00pm CST, we would love to see you there.
The tournament, which will be a team scramble, was made possible by our presenting sponsor, Holladay Distillery, so it’s fair to say there will be bourbon at this event.
There will also be chances to win a car, $10,000 in cash, a set of STIX golf clubs, swag bags for everyone who plays, food and drink before and after, prizes for the top teams, plus you can chat with former Chiefs players and plenty more to come.
Join us for a good time for a good cause.
You can register your team of four through the KC Sports Network Venmo account. The tournament is $100/per person, and we have limited availability so make sure to register your team as soon as possible. Once your registration fee is submitted, we’ll contact you for team info and receipts will be provided.
If you’re interested in sponsoring the event, there are options available.
