Hello, Chiefs Kingdom! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tucker Franklin and I am the new podcast producer for Let It Fly Media and will be helping out with the digital content on the KC Sports Network.
You may know me from my work with Arrowhead Report on Sports Illustrated or as the host of the Roughing the Kicker Chiefs podcast. Either way, as training camp is just around the corner, I’m thrilled to bring my talents to Let It Fly and the KC Sports Network.
Before my time covering the Chiefs for Sports Illustrated, I was the sports editor at The Maryville Forum in Maryville, Missouri, where I covered local sports and graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in sports media in December 2019.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve not only been a fan of the Chiefs but a fan of Kansas City. In my newborn picture from the hospital, you can find me in a Royals onesie and as I got older, my Elvis Grbac jersey became my “Sunday best” when I was in preschool. My earliest memories of Kansas City sports are when Trent Green was under center and Carlos Beltran roamed the outfield. I grew up with a ball in my hands while watching my hometown teams as my parents have been a large influence on my sports fandom.
While I turn 23 today, I’m old enough to remember the heartbreak as the Chiefs have now turned into a formidable force in the NFL thanks to Patrick Mahomes. The team has become fun to watch as they’ve embraced the identity of Kansas City. Hard work, determination and grit are at their core while they have that extra bit of flair (Mahomes) that makes them unique and sets them apart.
Being from Trenton, Missouri‚ — a small, north central Missouri town — covering a professional sports team has always been my dream. Once that dream was realized, I wanted to take it to the next level. When approached with the chance to join such an esteemed group of people and football minds, it was too good to pass up.
This fit couldn’t be more perfect and it’s a great birthday present as well. I can’t thank everyone enough at Let It Fly for thinking of me and BJ, Kent, Craig and Matt for helping me grow even before this moment. I look forward to contributing to the quality, entertaining and educating content you all have become accustomed to from the KC Sports Network.
I want to get to know you better, so follow me on Twitter @tuckerdfranklin and we can talk about the Chiefs, the state of the Royals, Sporting KC, European football, BBQ or anything in between. I hope this isn’t our only interaction as there’s so much more to come. Let’s get to it!
The KC Sports Network roster is acquiring depth and talent that it
reminds me of the Chiefs.
