Matt Nagy is Chiefs' OC again | KCSN Daily 2.24
Plus KCSN podcasts, contract trigger dates and more Chiefs news.
Welcome back to the latest issue of KCSN Daily, where we deliver the best Kansas City Chiefs content to your inbox.
The Chiefs have found their new offensive coordinator following Eric Bieniemy’s departure to Washington. In an expected move, senior assistant and QB coach Matt Nagy has been promoted to offensive coordinator.
Feeling Déjà vu? That’s because this isn’t the first time that Matt Nagy has served as offensive coordinator in Kansas City. He was the team’s QB coach from 2013-2015. He was promoted to the co-offensive coordinator with Brad Childress in 2016 and in 2017 he took over as sole offensive coordinator in Kansas City.
Nagy’s performance as offensive coordinator the first time around was exceptional, which has raised plenty of optimism for this promotion. He helped coach Alex Smith to the best season of his NFL career and he coached the offense to a top 5 finish in 2017. Just imagine what he’ll be able to achieve with No. 15 as the quarterback.
