Melvin Ingram Perfect Marriage in the Chiefs' Defense
Ingram's current skill set is being highlighted and maximized with the Chiefs, and it couldn't be more beautiful.
The Kansas City Chiefs continue to win games through dominant play from one side of the ball making up for a lackluster performance for the other side of the ball. Of course, I’m talking about how the dominant Chiefs’ defense carried the team through a difficult November stretch and sent them off into their bye week only 1.5 games out of first place in the AFC.
It’s been quite the turn-around for the defensive unit that at one point that year was on pace to be one of the worst defenses of all time. Then the month of November hit, they flipped a switch, and they are playing like one of the best defenses in the NFL. One of the bigger driving forces behind this change of play has been the defensive line finally playing up to their pre-season hype.
An improvement to the overall health of the unit obviously played a large role in the improvement but another more tangible change also occurred. The Chiefs went out and traded for Pittsburgh Steeler outside linebacker Melvin Ingram and his impact has been felt immediately and in major ways.
