New Podcast Miniseries from KCSN: The Behind-The-Scenes Story of How the NFL Draft Ultimately Came to Kansas City

KCSN's Marleah Campbell hosted and produced a five-part miniseries with interviews from three local leaders who helped bring the NFL Draft to Kansas City

Earlier today we announced the launch of our new “Storytelling” channel at KC Sports Network, and honestly, we couldn’t be more proud of it.

This is something new for us at KC Sports Network - not just in that it’s another podcast channel, which we know have EIGHT! But it’s storytelling - like listening to an audiobook, but with local stories and voices you know. 

For the first of what will be multiple miniseries to come out each year on this new channel, KCSN’s Marleah Campbell hosted and produced this five-part miniseries (episodes are between 12-15 minutes long each) that details the behind-the-scenes story of how the 2023 NFL Draft ultimately came to Kansas City.

The ups, the downs, the questions and problems those in charge had to work through in order to bring the largest event in Kansas City’s history to the finish line, and so much more. 

You might know the general process of what went down, or you’ve seen or heard a few soundbites on the news or other local interviews about how it came together, but in this series - you’ll hear from KC Sports Commission President and CEO Kathy Nelson, Mayor Quinton Lucas, and former Burns and McDonnell Chairman and CEO Greg Graves.

These three leaders - along with Campbell narrating the journey - will give you a complete picture of how much work went into making this happen, and the opportunity for Kansas City to show off what makes us special to the entire country (and world!) over the next few weeks.
