Player Groupings and Tendencies
The latest newsletter from KCSN Sports Data Scientist, Joseph Hefner.
Thursday night’s game wasn’t quite how any of us were hoping to start the season. Kelce’s injury after the gameplan had already been installed. Chris Jones continued holdout. Omenihu’s suspension. Then, to top it all off, an absolutely absurd number of drops from our young wide receiver group.
Despite all of that, we were one Kadarius Toney drop inside field goal range from being able to bleed out the clock and kick the game-winner. Alternatively, we were one Skyy Moore drop on 4th and 25 away from being able to continue our drive and get in field goal range. Unfortunately, both of those drops happened.
I’m not looking to rehash exactly how or why we lost on Thursday night. There are already a plethora of articles on KCSN that do exactly that. If you want the nuts and bolts of what happened, check them out. They’re worth your time.
