"Tacos & Bourbon" Golf Tourney More Than 1/2 Sold Out - Reserve Your Team Now
The tourney is Saturday, September 7th at Sunflower Hills in Bonner Springs, Kansas (1:30 pm CT)
Join us for a good time with some great people.
For the third-straight year, the KCSN Foundation is throwing a golf tournament to help raise money for our six annual programs.
The tournament is a four-person scramble with Par 3 contests, longest drive and longest put competitions, player gifts, a raffle with Kansas City sports memorabilia, plus winning prizes for the top teams, and someone gets a chance to sink a shot for $1 million - plus plenty of food and drink thanks to our friends at Mission Taco Joint, Holladay Distillery, and Batchelder Family Farms.
A team is $700 and the tournament will be capped at 32 teams, but if you’re interested in playing as an individual - let Kristian Gumminger (kgumminger@gmail.com) know and he can try to place you on a team.
You can register your team by following this link. Teams are first-come, first serve, so please sign up today if you’re interested in playing!
Each player in the tournament who is at least 21 years old will get to take home a bottle of the Ben Holladay Soft Red Wheat Bourbon that was picked especially for this tournament, and each player will also receive a free golf fitting at PXG-Kansas City ($125 value), not to mention other special gifts as well.
Again, the money that’s raised from the golf tournament helps us pay for the items we buy the kids from the Boys and Girls Clubs for the “My First Game” campaign from the team store at Arrowhead on game days. It goes to buying memorabilia that we auction off for the Soul of KC Holiday Raffle and Toy Drive, and for the Terez Paylor Memorial Scholarship. It has helped us pay for meals for the Feed it Forward program with Hope Faith Ministries.
The golf tournament is the only thing we do throughout the year to make money to fund these programs.
Our goal was to create the best place to find the best Kansas City sports podcasts, and to help our community with the platform we built and with an audience that understands what we’re about.
Here’s a quick rundown on the KCSN Foundation over the past few years:
My First Game with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City
In partnership with our friends at Tickets for Less, we’ve sent more than 35 kids to their first regular-season Kansas City Chiefs’ game at Arrowhead Stadium. We give them VIP tailgate passes and buy them items from the team store as well.
Read it Forward
We’ve donated more than 2,500 books to Kansas City elementary schools as part of this program with Emprise Bank. One of the schools that we’ve visited each month for the past two years recently shared that “this group of kids was at 39% proficiency with reading in kindergarten and we just had them assessed, and that number is up to 91% of the kids being at or above grade level for reading! Having those books has made a HUGE difference for so many of these families. I can’t thank y’all enough for the gift that you have given and how it has impacted their futures. We are so grateful!”
Feed it Forward
We’ve provided and served more than 5,000 meals as part of our Feed it Forward program. The first iteration was sending BBQ to nurses in hospitals during COVID, then it was Cookie Society cookies to teachers the following Fall, and for the past two years - we’ve provided and helped serve meals to the Hope Faith Ministries homeless shelter.
Soul of KC Holiday Raffle
We’ve supported Operation Breakthrough’s Christmas Store over the past three years by raising more than $50,000 as part of our “Soul of KC” Holiday Raffle and Toy Drive. We ultimately spent all that money during big shopping sprees at DICK’S Sporting Goods - loading up the Operation Breakthrough truck with the items they’ve requested to help ensure more kids in Kansas City have a great Christmas.
Any Given Holladay
If you purchase an “Any Given Holladay” cocktail at any Kansas City area Mission Taco Joint location, proceeds will go to support Braden’s Hope. The cocktails are made with some fantastic Ben Holladay Bourbon (and they’re Tucker approved).
Supporting Terez Paylor’s Memorial Scholarships
The most personal one for all of us … we’ve helped raise nearly $30,000 over the past three years for the Terez Paylor Memorial Scholarships during our NFL Draft coverage. Most of this money has gone to the scholarship through Power Mizzou and some has gone to his memorial scholarship at Howard, through the wishes of Ebony Reed.
If you’re not able to make the golf tournament but are interested in supporting the KCSN Foundation - please reach out. Your donations are tax deductible as it is a verified 501c3.
If you’re interested in sponsoring the golf tournament in some way - there are a few options still available! Let us know!
