This is a grand week in the NFL offseason: the start of training camp has officially arrived! QB’s and rookies reported on Tuesday, and QB1 is ready for it! The long slog of the summer is over, and our social media accounts will once more be overflowing with real NFL news. Congratulations on surviving another turn of the NFL calendar.
It is also exciting for me, as I am kicking off a new series: Threats to the Threepeat. I am going to provide a preview of every team in the AFC West plus the top three contenders to the AFC throne in our quest for a threepeat. And before anyone says our AFC West rivals aren’t a threat, remember that you gotta take care of business at home before you worry about the rest of the league!
I will start with the division, then move on to the AFC contenders. Truthfully, I’m doing it in order of worst to best odds to win the Super Bowl this year, but none of our division rivals make the top 3, so it’s the same thing. The Broncos have the worst Super Bowl odds per DraftKings, so I will start with them.
First, let’s do a short recap of the 2023 Broncos. They started the season 1-5, then finished on a pretty decent 7-4 run that included a win against us in week 8. They also notched wins against the Packers, Bills and Browns, all playoff teams. Their rookie WR Marvin Mims made some noise as a deep threat and a kick returner. Russell Wilson was better than a dumpster fire, which was quite an improvement on his 2022 season.
