Three keys to the game for the Chiefs against the Bills

Perhaps this biggest game of the Chiefs season is coming up this weekend when they head up to New York to face off against their rival, the Bills. Here are three ways KC can come away with the win.

For the first time since the epic 2018 showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams two teams that have more than eight wins before week 11 are going to face off when the Chiefs travel to Buffalo this weekend. It will be the eighth time Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen go head-to-head, with Mahomes besting him four out of the seven matchups thus far. 

The Bills are currently riding a three-game win streak over the Chiefs, when it comes to the regular season, tallying wins each of the last three years. Buffalo is currently a two-point favorite over Kansas City. Of course, Mahomes is 11-3 straight up as an underdog and is 12-1-1 against the spread. 

The Bills are 8-2 this season, and their point differential is the best in the AFC, 39 points more than the Chiefs, despite Kansas City being 9-0. That being said, the two games they have lost have been against the two best teams they have played: the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans. Their only win against a team that currently has a winning record was against the Arizona Cardinals way back in week one. 

Based on how 2021, 2022 and 2023 went, it would not be shocking if the Bills handed the Chiefs their first loss of the season. Kansas City only cares about postseason success at this point, but this year they are figuring out how to win games, no matter what it looks like. This game will have huge implications on making sure the Chiefs lock up the one-seed and having the playoffs run through Arrowhead, with a Kansas City win putting them up three games on both the Bills and the Baltimore Ravens. Not only would they have a large lead, but they would also own the head-to-head tiebreaker, essentially giving them a four-game lead with seven games left.
