Three keys to the game for the Chiefs against the Falcons in week three
There is much to look forward to in the Chiefs matchup against the Falcons with a lot of questions still left unanswered. Here are the three keys to the Chiefs coming away with the win.
The Chiefs are coming off back-to-back performances in which they faced two conference rivals, were outplayed on the stat sheet, the game came down to the final play and came away with the win. Chiefs Kingdom can take a sigh of relief, not because the Atlanta Falcons are a slouch, but because there are fewer implications in a matchup against an NFC opponent.
The moment the schedule was released in May we knew the first two weeks would be stressful and to come away 2-0 will help with playoff seeding. You want to win every game and NFC games still count, but these games will not directly affect any tiebreakers. The Falcons could be a bit feisty coming off a dramatic win against the Philadelphia Eagles, although Atlanta did put up a dud against the 2-0 Pittsburgh Steelers in week one. This has the makings of a trap game with the Chiefs headed to the currently undefeated Los Angeles Chargers next week.
There are many things to watch for that should be fun for Chiefs fans to watch unfold. Patrick Mahomes is undefeated in a dome, Worthy’s speed should show up in a dome as well, Carson Steele should get a bevy of carries, the left tackle situation could get some clarity, Kansas City’s defense has shown areas teams could exploit and so forth. Any and all of those aspects could go well and help bring the Chiefs to 3-0, but here are the three keys to a Chiefs victory over their NFC South counterpart.
