Where Brett Veach Has Spent His Draft Capital (2018-2024)
Analyzing where the Chiefs GM has placed value with his draft picks in six years

It’s a big week for us every year, and we really appreciate it.
Two years ago, I looked at where the Chiefs had invested the draft capital they used to select players to get an idea of trends in GM Brett Veach’s philosophies. We looked at a four year sample to get an idea of positions he targets specifically in the draft.
Those trends have seen significant changes over the course of two drafts that saw the Chiefs have additional draft capital from the Tyreek Hill trade as well as an overhaul of the roster that still produced back-to-back titles.
The changes are interesting.
I took a look at every pick Veach has made, and using the Rich Hill Trade Value Model that assigns value to every pick in the draft, assigned a total value to each position. Here they are ranked largest to smallest, as well as insight at each position.
